For the record, I directed the development of the FDT program during my tenure as VP of marketing with Tyco Fire Products. The listing of the program was based on its accuracy in duplicating the delivery times of many different arrangements that had been configured and timed by the old Central

If it's only Listed for Tree Systems, will the AHJ accept it on a loop system? Sounds a little risky. There must be some reason it's not Listed for loops. I'd prefer to be on the safe/conservative side and make it 2 systems. Cliff Whitfield, SET President Fire Design, Inc. 940 Summerbrooke

If I recall correctly, it may work for a loop, depending on configuration, but it is not listed for loops. Only listed for tree systems. Travis Mack, CFPS, CWBSP, RME-G, COC, SET Senior Engineering Manager MFP Design 480-505-9271 ext. 700 C: 480-272-2471

Brian, Unless they have changed the program in the last year or so, the FDT software will not work if your mains are looped. I believe it only works on a 'tree' type system. Cliff Whitfield, SET President Fire Design, Inc. 940 Summerbrooke Drive Tallahassee, FL 32312 Ph: 828-284-4772

I assume with a dry system size of 1200 gallons my options are to add a 2nd dry valve and have (2) 600 gallon system with quick opening devices or run delivery time calc's and see if by chance it's under 60 seconds? If the latter is true what do most use to run theses calc's? Brian Harris, CET
