get the group membership. Try this manualy:
wbinfo -n GROUP
wil print the SID of the given group. Take it for the next step:

Nopes, this doesn't give me my AD groups/users, only my unix users and
passwords
Ok, now we now that the winbindd is not running correctly.
But don't ask my why. I need more data. E.g.:
- smb.conf
- Which Windows Domain are you running? NT4, 2000 or 2003?
- Are you using domain or ADS?

aol mail through webmail.
Watchout for error statuses, if any.
Also check cache.log.
