When issues squid -k reconfigure
Does squid looses the in memory cache?
I have a 10 Gybtes RAM cache, and I would hate to loose it.

No reconfigure and rotate do not clear the memory

Yes. Squid does not monitor the configuration files for changes. It's
on the feature wishlist, but nobody has had
