OK, changed the cable and the issue persists. I think the drive is bad. I'm going to boot into the system rescue CD and run a destructive bad blocks test on that particular drive. It will probably take overnight being a 1TB drive. At least my Raidz2 data should be preserved even although I'll

Brian, Is 'zpool status' reporting any CKSUM errors on the drive? I've just realised you have not mentioned that. Presumably you have checked that and it's not showing any errors. So when the hard drive responds, it's giving good data. But sometimes, it's very slow to respond. I would say that
