I am not fond of the bountysource approach. Bounties can linger for year,
because it is solely dependent on the will of someone to work on the task.
With the more conventional approach of funding the project, at least, the
handling of feature addition can be organized and prioritized. This,
One alternative could be the approach taken by McCLIM where the money is
set aside for rewards for specific work. Anyone can claim it who does the
work, not just team members.
For example, a reward of some amount could be put for the implementation of
Freetype support. Once the feature is merged
