No DOWN file support in runit?

Hi all, I've been using runit for about 4 months now, and a few days ago I tried to disable a service by placing a file called DOWN in its directory (like you would with s6 or daemontools). However, the service kept coming up at boot. What's the idiomatic way to prevent a runit service from
