What I was really wanting to know was whether anyone with a FR had their
phone working at a reasonable call volume without having echo. Not
necessarily how they did it, although that is good info, but whether
this was possible at all using the FR hardware.

Has anyone been able to address this for themselves? This is maybe the
last major issue that keeps the FR from being my main phone. But unless
this is addressed I can't really recommend the phone to anyone but

Hi all;
With SHR-testing the phone seems to be fairly usable. Battery life is
even pretty decent. However, one thing that is a dealbreaker for me as
far as using my freerunner as my main phone is the call volume. I can
make calls
Hi,
Same problem here.
Just I am curious if it can be fixed by replacing the speaker.
TIA

I can make calls just fine from my living room, but in a noisy cafe
or inside a car I can't hear very well at all.
I'm running SHR unstable and the volume is so high that I have to hold
the phone 5cm from my ear.

I'm using the latest testing milestone of FSO
Please quote the actual version number to avoid confusion. As I understand

Hey Al,
Phone's gta02 with FSO milestone 4.1.
I changed the values back up to 127 and 7, and rebooted, and then made a
call, with no difference. I wonder does FSO or zhone not use the .state
files?
Just to be clear, I'm changing the gsmheadset.state file at
/usr/share/openmoko/scenarios
