Oh crap, no wonder I couldn't reproduce this bug. I had my head up my

I may have not been clear as to where the problem was. At least I'm verse
enough to find fixes for some of these bugs.
What I still need (badly) is that package Colin (I think it was Colin) was
working on that made the USB port on the Soekris 4801 show as a RAW printer
port. I will use windows
I had the same problem with a supermicro. The answer for me was to set
the disk in bios to standaard ide, no ultra modes or anything fancy like
UMDA, just plain IDE

Any chance you have console redirection enabled in BIOS for this one ?
Not sure if the GX260 has it but...
Some systems when set to console redirection start acting like they are
indeed a DCE, and not a DTE as one might assume it is.
Also do you get any info at all when you boot it ?

Yeah, it still trashes the optional interfaces from what I can tell.
It would be really nice if it didn't do that.

Apologies to everyone for the 5 MB list attachment. I should have
instated a size limit on the list from the get go. Sending that out to
almost 300 people chewed up some serious Internet bandwidth (25 Mb, more
than half a T3).
