A c3 Nehemia 1 GHz can push almost full 100 Mbit/s (I get 89 mbit/s if testpcs are connected directly to each other and 87 mbit/s with a pfsense in between) in factory default config of pfsense lan to wan.

The WRAP can push about 20 Mbit/s with the older versions. The new version from last night gained +25% in performance due to a bugfix for a problem that was found in freebsd 6 and now is at 25 mbit/s. Additionally the webgui of the older version was unresponsive while under the 20 mbit/s burst. The new one still worked with 25 mbit/s.

This only was a quick test (copied over an 700 mb iso). Here's a screenshot of the traffic graph for that connection: http://www.pfsense..com/screens/wrap-bench.gif

Betreff: [pfSense Support] Performance question

Hi to all.
I am trying to build an embedded system, and my first choice was a mini-itx board (EPIA PD-6000, vith dual NIC) with 512Mb ram.. Now I would like to test a different hardware, I am thinking about soekris (i.e. net4801) or WRAP..
I would like to know if someone out there tested the performances of that two boards, possibly compared with VIA mini-itx..

TIA
Tommaso
