Dear Hakan,
Your summary of hydrogen production technology is, IMO, spot on.
However you say nothing about the distribution losses that have always
plagued City Gas (which also contains carbon monoxide). This is not, as
is commonly supposed, just caused by poorly maintained pipes: The
To be absolutely fair, I believe one has to read exactly what was said, at
least in several instances. It's called Poli-Speak. Easy enough to discern
if tuned in well. A bit like going to the town council meeting and hearing
promises that a matter will be addressed.

Not a problem. Still waiting to see if Pieter had any better fortune after
starting again from scratch.
Something is slightly awry with the volumes of acid he is adding. He'll get
there. There's really not that much that can go wrong with the process, at
least to my knowledge.

Hi
Yesterday I made the first stage of a 1 litre test batch of biodiesel
using Alex's two stage method. I preheated the WVO to 120 C and left it
at that temperature for 20 minutes to get rid of the water. Small light
bubbles were still rising from the oil at the end of this process but I
Looks like a plan. I think we can expect a gearing up of opposition, lies and
obfuscation from the massive Petro-Info industry, if the past is a guide.

bubbles were still rising from the oil at the end of this process but I
decided that they were not due to water. Was I correct in assuming this?
What was it that made you make this decision, or was it simply a presumption
based upon impatience?
Where else would the bubbles come
Hi Todd, Stan
It's not totally clear, but I think Stan is referring to the
base-base 2-stage method rather than the acid-base method. That
aside, very good advice you've given him Todd.
What's generally added, though, is that neither method is the place
to start - if you're a beginner, Stan,

Does anyone have any dealings with new car warranties when it comes to using
biodiesel or vegetable oil as the main fuel? I would be interested in hearing
any pros and cons concerning this subject. In particular, does using biodiesel
void any of the engine, fuel or drivetrain warranty?
TIA
Thanks Keith and Todd
I did try the base/base method simply because I didn't have the
equipment on hand the do the titration. This week I will procure what
is needed to do the titration.

Another question, this time about Touchless Processors I have read

I am looking for a used VW turbo engine either a 1.6 TD or a 1.9 TD to

It would have to be rinsed with alcohol or biodiesel to remove water prior
to running the next transesterification.
Perhaps there is a prescribed method different than that, but I wouldn't
know what it would be.

A good idea. Please also note what Todd said about stirring
