Harmon,
The smell is like Milwaukee used to be during the summer, not pleasant, but
not unbearable. In some areas of Wisconsin the effluent can be sprayed back
on farmers fields (with a permit). On the big plants, they want the effluent
to have contaminants taken out.

Dana,
Lowest price I have seen for a renewable power contract is 5.6 cents per
kwh - that was for constant power, not peak shaving. If you can get 7 cents
or more, you should be in good shape.
Bring your process over here to Wisconsin - utilities are required to
purchase a certain percentage of
Dana,
A web search will show hundreds of sites with used gensets.
Concentrate on companies that can use the heat for their process
(cogeneration) - it will cut costs dramatically. You could probably use some
of the heat for BioD production. I don't know where you are from, but some
See website of a company called BC International (www.bcintlcorp.com).
Sounds like they might be able to help.

If anyone is interested, I know where a plant is that is for sale. It is
designed to make about 4 mm gallons of ethanol per year. Price is $4.5 mm
(US$). It is located in central Wisconsin. The seller is willing to listen
to all reasonable offers. The plant had made ethanol, but is not now
I believe there is an exemption for less than 10,000 gallons per year. If
that applies to you, you might want to take advantage of it.

Great article in yesterday's Wall Street Journal about waste veggie oil. Price
is so low, companies are dumping it down sewers. Cost to remove / clean sewers
is enormous. Should be more than enough for biodiesel, and it helps clean up
another problem as well.
Looking forward to seeing more
I have been looking at a product for distilling ethanol (a solvent recovery

assures me it will. See the unit at www.rescience.com. His name is Tome Graves
