E96 is 96% ethanol, 4% water and trace additives, that is, the purple methylated spirit you buy at hardware stores and supermarkets (here at least). I'm not sure if the purple dye is used in other markets, or what it is called locally: it's denatured alcohol, basically. SU's are fine with
