Eric, I'll let Bryan give you a more definitive answer, but in the meantime, here's what I know about getting more power out of a diesel engine. If you monitor exhaust gas temps (EGT's) with a pyrometer, you can turn up the fueling on the injection pump, and this will produce more power. Doing

The injection pumps I have never really had a problem with. I always have them checked and reworked by a Professional pump shop. Most auto mechanics won't touch them because they don't have the specialized tools it takes(That keeps me from working on them though I do tear them apart). Early pumps
