Came across description, evaluation of 2 cycle oil and chemistry links that might help explain although not BD specific: This relates to 2 cycle air/water cooled engines e.g. chain saw, marine, lawn mower, etc. How 2 cycle ultralight aircraft engine OIL works

Model aircraft engines very often have no rings and very small piston/cylinder clearances, so small that some engines are actually tight to turn over when cold! Because of this they need very good lubrication ( up to 30% oil). Castor is still provides better engine life and more power than

Hi All Well some said no and some yes , I'm here to say that it dose work as 2 stroke oil and quite well at that , at first I was hasades to use it in my chain saw but after a while and having given it some thought, I used a 20 to 1 mix and it worked

Well, you'd think that at 20:1, just about anything would work, considering that most 2-strokes nowadays use 50:1 and even 100:1 mixes. I'd be hesitant, however, to use it in my expensive Stihl chainsaw, but if someone had an older 2-stroke lawnmower that they didn't care about, it would be

If you run a 2 stroke on a richer ratio than the maker specifies, a well known fact is that the burning of the excess oil creates heat, and can seize your engine... I still hold to the fact that Biodiesel is NOT a substitute for 2 stroke oil, try mixing it in an engine that uses the oil/fuel
