majority of it is burned in asphalt paving plants to
dry and heat the sand and gravel prior to mixing it

really was feeling that it is wasteful (and
counterproductive) to require so much
Yes, that is a problem area. It would be nice to see more re-refined oil
available. Also more by-pass filtration and oil analysis programs. And more
vegetable oil as lube oil of course! Easily re-used as SVO in a diesel in
that case.
