Yes, there's hope. (But lots to do!) Though it'll be more convincing
when there's some opposite effect discernible in a decline in the
freakishly high amounts of food that gets wasted at the consumer
level, if only that data weren't always so far behind.
George Monbiot writes a syndicated weekly column for the Guardian,
1,250 words, every week, week after week. He's been doing it for
years. The About George Monbiot piece at his website is dated June

They actually made a little bit of biodiesel from algae, and they're
not a professional lab, but they did say that they had to have a full
time lab do some centrifuge work for them.
