ANYTHING that gets SVG used is a net gain at this point, irregardless
of whose viewer, whose drawing tools, or on what platform.

I agree with your sentiment, but given what has been said of the deployment
of SVG-Tiny on the FlashLite viewer, I'm not sure you could say that it *is*
getting SVG used.
Naturally, Macromedia needs to make money, and I don't fault them for that.

I am pretty new to SVG development. I created a program to draw the
basic shapes in the browser and it works fine.
I want to save the result image after drawing in the browser with the
button click in the program and not by right clicking and save image.

What divisiveness? John Dowdell is being his usual liar and spreading
FUD like in Europe, SVG was forced because of 3GPP and as usual hasn't

at the supported elements list in the mobile specification

directory viewer in windows for viewing SVG files? There are
gazillions of directory viewers (including windows itself), that
automatically show thumbnails of png, gif, jpg, and bmp files. What
about one for SVG files?
