That's a good question that I don't necessarily have an answer to. One
explanation might be that Oregon had a more competitive team at the time,
and still had interesting, competitive duel meets during the season.

Now I never did it from 100m's away but I scared the crud out of my college coach when
I ran under a javlin and caught it in practice once. It was like catching a football.
I think I would be pretty upset if one of my athletes did that now. oh well getting

Billy Mills came today and though he gives his talk tomorrow he agreed to have
an informal talk with the cross country team. Imagine he spent 3 hours! #
hour talking with the kids who were in total awe! Ironically in September when
I started here the kids were having the usual Pre's
