A week after his historic sub-4 Mile in New York, South Lakes VA sr Alan Webb tried on the 1000 meter distance for record size at the Microtel Virginia Tech Invitational. He didn't get the record but he came within 0.28 seconds at 2:24.13, good for 3rd best ever among US high school boys. A
