11:22am 20th February 2005 Lord Sebastian Coe declared himself to be
as "confident as ever" London would be chosen as host city for the
2012 Olympics, but would not get "complacent" as the work continues to
bring the Games to Britain.

The International Olympic Committee inspectors spent four days in the
nation's capital this week and now head to New York. Once the
commission have completed their assessment visits to all five venues -
Paris, Madrid and Moscow are the other challengers - they will produce
a report in June for the 117 IOC members, who will vote on the 2012
hosts at a session in Singapore on July 6.
