The Associated Press story on the Linz meeting reported the following (among other things): "In the women's long jump, Dawn Burrell of the United States leapt 22.34 feet to beat Heike Daute-Dreschler of Germany, who jumped 22.08. "Franka Dietzsch of Germany won the women's discus with a toos of 216.9 feet. Nicoletta Grasu of Romania was second in 211.68." I trust that the AP writer and/or copy editor didn't get those conversion figures from the Big Green Book. Regards, George McWilliams
