The Associated Press story on the Linz meeting reported the following (among 
other things):

"In the women's long jump, Dawn Burrell of the United States leapt 22.34 feet 
to beat Heike Daute-Dreschler of Germany, who jumped 22.08.
"Franka Dietzsch of Germany won the women's discus with a toos of 216.9 feet. 
Nicoletta Grasu of Romania was second in 211.68."

I trust that the AP writer and/or copy editor didn't get those conversion 
figures from the Big Green Book.
