I note that Ritzenhein if entered under North Kent RC, not his h.s. Will that affect his high school eligibility for the rest of the year, given the persnickety federation rules? He entered with his club affiliation to avoid being ineligible for MHSAA competition. It is a Michigan HS

The Michigan High School Athletic Association allows a competitor two outside competitions away from the school they may not use their school as an affiliation, or it will count as a school competition. Michigan also only allows a school team to compete a maximum of 300 miles from their school

Dathan Ritzenhein will be going after the 5000 meters national high school record of 13:44.0 (Gerry Lindgren, 1964) at the Penn Relays on Friday evening. He'll be running in the Olympic Development event so there'll be plenty of fast folks in front of him; partial lineup from PR website below.
