Hi Joost, everyone,
You might have seen this already (http://discovery.ucl.ac.uk/1433169/) -
it's a little old now but it is a 2014 report I was involved in on
Crowdsourcing Geographic Information Use in Government and there are lots
of OSM related examples (some of which have been mentioned).

I only want two or three regional-based extracts. OSM History for UK and
Ireland would be my priority.
Would someone who has these tools currently working be willing to do this
extraction for me?
Thanks in advance,

Hello everyone,
In December I wrote to this list announcing that I would be leading a bid
to host FOSS4G 2016 in Dublin.
Here's a link to the email in the archives [

Hi,
I am doing some teaching in a few weeks time on Neogeography. I intend
to show the students the workings of OpenStreetMap and in particular

I am aware that http://api06.dev.openstreetmap.org/ exists for testing.
My question is:

Hi all,
Quick question regarding the OSM API.
I have a server setup for my OSM research - it has a very fast Internet
link. My personal, home, broadband is much slower and limited to 5Gb per
month.
Anyway during April I downloaded the history files (in OSM-XML) for a couple
of thousand ways. I
have the machine grunt/space to load Europe/Planet myself.
I have a PHP script and/or raw SQL ready to go.
Thanks in advance,
Peter Mooney

in a bounding rectangle. The PHP is a
rather messy collection of XML parsing and the like. It works but is rather
cumbersome.
Is there a tool to do this or a more established approach?
Any hints or tips greatly welcomed.
Thanks in advance,
Peter Mooney
