Hello.
Ich read current import guide lines. They are long. Hard to
understand. Easy to ignore. Even established mappers some times fail
following. Even when they want.
Look: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Guidelines
I did a redraw of them. To make understanding easier.

Do you have any comments? What to add? What to remove?
1. I think that the discussion with community should be much earlier,
probably right after you have found some data. Is it really useful data, if
not then do not

Hello Pieren,
And constantly refering to contacting the
community is simply a joke because the mailing lists, forums and
mapping parties are just a little fraction of the contributors and I'm
still looking for a mean to contact the community. Or the word has
to be replaced by the 5
Hello.
But what would be the best tags to use? Would natural=wetland
wetland=swamp (An area of waterlogged forest, with dense vegetation.)
be correct?
I currently have no objection to this tag change. I have to propose a bit
more.
Sorry for delay.
I looked at data. If you limit your edit

We're currently working with Ruben (user Rub21) on fixing street name
capitalization in Lima - a lot of the street names are ALL CAPS where they
should be properly capitalized. We're doing this work manually right now and
are well under way.
Because if people are still editing like this, then I don't see the
problem that WorstFixer is fixing as actually being fixed. Users of
the map will still have to deal with both the format that WorstFixer
doesn't like AND the format he does like. Less of the former and more
of the latter, but
Hello Paul,
You use HTML letters in mailing list. Using blue color shows your power.

Could you post the code used to generate the changesets?
Ich may not. Some parts of it are not open source. I think of clean rewrite.
That would be the
easiest way
Hello.
The landuse import for Georgia (which IMO is poor-quality and should be
deleted, but that's not going to happen) has a bunch of areas tagged as
note = Forested Wetland with no useful natural=* tags (since
natural=wood and natural=wetland both apply). Example:
Hello.
I used reply to instead of reply to all in my mail agent. We had a
small thread with Thomas. Here is major result we achived.
Thomas expressed opinion that not 100% of water=intermittent have
other tags, so we have no way count them as water.
In my sub-extract of water=intermittent:

There is on going import of Buildings in city Chicago.

Hello.
I ask you to review my planned mechanical edit.
There are 400+ ways tagged building=levels=N in database.
I propose changing tags to building=yes; building:levels=N for these ways.
Also I propose removal of addr:housenumber=? on these objects, and move
name=N to addr:housenumber=N.
Hello.

The mechanical edit policy calls for a wiki page with the details of the
proposed upload, as well as contact info (i.e. main account).

Hello, all.
I ask you to review my planned mechanical edit.
Main changed tag is ele=0.
While doing this edit, I also want clean other tag. Also is_in tag was

I also created overview.html that might help your review.
