While adding postcodes it looks like some people have incorrectly
joined boundaries together, to make a single way for a stream/road
etc, this has broken suburb boundaries in various areas.
I emailed Franc the other day for a copy of osm files converted from
the original shape file, but in the
Doesn't anyone disagree with using admin_level=7 to cover things like
metro/regional boundaries, this could include things like the limit of
cities, eg metro areas of Sydney/Melbourne, not just the suburbs of
Sydney/Melbourne?
It could also cover regions like the Sunshine Coast in Qld, the
There are routable versions of garmin maps on the OSMAustralia site, but

In the mean time, I think SendMap will work -

After that it might be wise to figure out some strategy to monitor
changes to admin boundaries to limit the effect of mistakes in future.
Easy fix.

Draw another way beside it or something but make sure you don't accidently
delete them.
When making postcode boundaries I'm starting to really agree with you,
people using roads especially make a complete mess of things at times
and you can't easily

An easy routable OSM source is
http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php
Once you've selected your tile(s) you get emailed a link where to download
the file from with a choice of installation possibilities - VERY COOL. The
map tiles are far from perfect and update is monthly (I think).

Not all the img files you'll find lying around are routable. Some
are, some aren't. As Matt said, some of the ones on the OSM Australia
are, but not all. There are other sources as well - see

partial list. (Check the routable

It is indeed - or at least that's how I'd tag it. I cycled and walked
it 2 TDUs ago (before my OSM days).

Useful if you're on your bike, not so useful if you're in the car as
it'll route you down bike paths.

I suggest asking the authors of JOSM/Potlatch/... to put in an option to
hide
One possible approach to this that I believe will solve the more
general case of this is the ability to move selected items to a new
layer, which you can then hide
