You could generalise if the majority of stores fit the standard category, as individual shops can still be 'interior_decoration' if that is all that they do. A difficulty could be that editing apps suggest that it is 'incorrect' and needs updating. Some chains make it easier by having a sub-brand

Hi, I may be wrong, but I believe that there were some home (furniture) shops that didn’t sell clothing, and some years ago my family would reliably buy wallpaper from Laura Ashley which had the traditional Laura Ashley design on it. So that would seem to back up the “interior_decoration” tag.
