Mainly on straight roads. I know when tracing it can make it easier to do so
using lots of nodes but this vandalism was hard to revert because of the number
of excess nodes on ways.

Avec un système tout beau tout neuf, Postgres 8.4, Mapnik 0.7.1 et
Osm2pgsql rev. 21206 tout roule !
Et vite fait en plus.

自分の場合だと、エリアで描くような建物にはだいたいPOIが複数あるので
エリアとノードの名前は重ならないことが多いです。
（例えば、エリア：イトーヨーカドー、ノード１：マクドナルド、ノード２：○○ベーカリー）
具体的な事例により、やり方は異なるのかもしれません。

インポートご苦労さまでした。
今日地図を書いていて、見慣れない線が増えていてびっくりしました。
そこで、ちょっと質問です。
自分の地元では主に農業用水関連が大量に増えているようですが、
このデータはどこまで信用できるのかな？という疑問があります。
まぁ自分の足で集めたデータよりもお上のデータの方が正確だろうとは
思いますが、それでもちょっと、あれ？と思うところがあります。
＃GPSのログは結構誤差があるので、あれ？なところのログを何回か
＃取り直してみないといけませんね。

その付近の道路のデータを取り直して確認した上で、元のデータを
残して、消してしまいました。
＃まわりに高い建物等ないのでずれる要素もなく、何度かGPSで

なお、そのデータに関しては、河川の名前も現地にある看板と異なって
いました。
ところで、こういうデータを修正する場合は、新たにwayを起こすのと、
ksjのデータを編集するのとどっちがいいのでしょうか…。私の
場合は両方ある状態だったので、ksjの方を消しちゃったのですが。

国土数値情報の河川データがインポートされた件だと
思いますが現地でログ取られて、現状と合わなければ
ログを優先されて問題ないと思います。
河川データは縮尺25000精度で河川の中心線が書かれています。

縮尺25000を考えるとGPS受信状況に問題なければ
GPSログに勝算ありと個人的には考えます。
全国の河川ログ取得は難しいですし、GPS受信状況の
悪い場合も考えられるので河川データのインポートは
メリットあると思います。

週末に、岐阜県・愛知県の河川データをインポートしてみました。
後ほど、その状況をまとめて報告するつもりでしたが、
遅れてしまい、すみませんでした。

buildings but from what I've read this doesn't seem to be the case any more.
Is streetview the best building level detail we have from the OS? There is no
