Amazon obviously have their specific interests in mapping, but so do all of
us. You're unlikely to see me adding tags for voltage of an electricity
line, but you may see me add the pylon.

The NSI info seems to have both using "brand=Caltex" but the Woolworths

The OSM community is what OSM is even more than it is a map. People that
are passionate about railways are a part of that community and they do
contribute a lot, especially in the US where we don't have as many
mappers. They pour lots of time and love and passion into their efforts.

stuck out to me: many of the parks and schools are already in OSM, even if
just as a GNIS point. Also, many of the curves in the import are over

Often friendly messages are the best way to sort things out. But once it's
discussed in a group (e. g. mailing list) make it clear to others that
you're messaging the user, this stops everyone else bombarding their inbox.

What tagging should/is being done to identify which ones are in the
council's map (or not in it)?
Quickly looking at Durham city, there are several footpaths and alleyways
that are in OSM but not in the Council map, and vice-versa. I could do a
lot with memory from my armchair.
