Razor girl,
You are sharp! Thanks for your insightful thoughts about the
role of the follower and her power to influence
the dance. Clear, succinct and without the selfaggrandizing
tone so often found in postings here. I really enjoyed reading it.

Melina,
I tend to be one of those who believe that tango is best learned from
Argentinians but I looked at the video of you two dancing to Corazon on
your website (www.youtube.com/tangodesalon) and I'd be standing in line
to attend classes from you two anytime. Hope you come to the SF Bay area

I didn't read anything amusing in it at all. Perhaps you didn't actually read
the entire piece? It involved quite a bit more than a teacher
Michael,
This recently happened to me. I went to a new afternoon milionga for the
first time and a man who I'd watched dance and thought would never ask
me did. We danced 2 full tandas and later 2 more and we really connected.
He asked where I usually danced and I told him I'm not a regular
My favorite film is Tango Bar with Raul Julia. It's only available on VHS (at
least in the US). The music and dancing are great and I never tire of
watching it.

Doug,
The description of the FUTURE CAT LOW US on the Puma website says:
Upper: Soft pig suede, full-grain leather
Outsole: EVA wedge
Profile: Non-slippery rubber
How can you dance tango in Non-slippery rubber or do you re-sole them?

Astrid,
I started taking bellydancing classes about a year ago. It's a great
compliment to tango since it depends on and develops core strength.
And it's fun! One of my favorite dancers is Zoe Jakes.

The point of referring to the length of Gustavo's steps was not Giselle's back
step or posture, although they are beautiful, but rather that Gustavo steps
between her feet, not directly in front of them.

, as a follower, I can quickly pick up if a leader expects this or not
and I adjust to those expectations. I prefer to be led to the cross or to do it
myself if it feels right and it doesn't interrupt the flow of the dance.

I don't recall one convincing example of nuevo dancing from the music.
If anyone has a video of David's decent Nuevo leads who listen to and
interpret the music, just as do dancers of all stripe then, please, let
us all see it.
Here's a video of a well known Bay Area couple who dance and teach
I just posted a new video of Eduardo Marisa dancing milonga on You tube.
I'd like to hear any any comments you might have.

Mario,
Thanks for looking. The really cool thing is that they're improvising.

I liked this couple's milonga a lot! It is creatively innovative...really

I agree. Gavito also said I lead and I follow.

This video was shot at the Escuela Argentina de Tango at the Galerias
