So you're using a distribution dvips, rather than texlive's dvips. Please verify that you have the musixtex fonts, likely part of the texlive-music package. Rodolfo: As has already been determined, the problem is the dvips step. Here's the output when I run dvips. The only difference I see is in the first line of output, which I presume relates to the source of the dvips executable. C:\Users\dsimo\Documents\PMX>dvips bwv847_1 This is dvips(k) 2022.1 (MiKTeX22.8) Copyright 2021 Radical Eye Software (www.radicaleye.com) ' TeX output 2022.11.19:1817' -> bwv847_1.ps . Rodolfo-- Sorry about the problem. I glanced at the long stream of responses but didn't look in detail. I have no problem at all processing your pmx file using my standard batch file under a windows 2000 command prompt window, which produces the postscript. The code versions run are PMX, Version 2.98 , 12 Dec 21 pdfTeX, Version 3.141592653-2.6-1.40.24 (MiKTeX 22.8) MusiXTeX(c) 1.32 <2021-05-13> Musixflx-0.83.3.lua7 dvips(k) 2022.1 (MiKTeX22.8) I view the file in GSview version 5.0 2012-01-17, from which I produce a pdf using the "convert" command. This probably won't help much since I think I'm the only one in the world who runs PMX/MusiXTeX under Windows, but perhaps the version numbers are of use. --Don Simons > -Original Message- > From: TeX-Music > On Behalf Of Rodolfo Medina > Sent: Saturday, November 19, 2022 8:12 AM > To: Werner Icking Music Archive > Subject: [Tex-music] Problems with PDF output > > Hi, dear friends: > > after using xml2pmx and obtaining the PMX file, I launch musixtex on it but > get a messed PDF output. Re: [Tex-music] Problems with PDF output
Looking at the log produced by musixtex -i, I see that musixdia.tex and musixper.tex are input; I don't know why. Is it possible you don't have these extension packages? Perhaps you should run musixtex -i and attach the log file.
