Hi Chuck, I'd agree on the use of connector wipes, but doubt that they have silicone as a lubricant. Silicone oil or grease is not generally suitable as a lubricant on electrical contacts as it can form an insulating layer that is virtually impossible to remove. This is especially true of contacts

Hi Robert, Interesting. I have used a variety of compounds to do this job for years now. My favorite is the old Chemtronics tuner cleaners of the sort that contained silicone, and HFC's. It left a silicone film that kept the air off of the contacts. I have equipment where I did this that has
