Windows XP gets mighty confused by a TB connected to a serial port and
installs the MS Ball-Point Mouse driver and tries to interpret the packet
from the TB as mouse commands - just go into device manager and disable the
MS Ball-Point Mouse!
The TB also confuses the heck out of Acronis bootable

In my case, I have some old Compaq 486's that run WIN98SE that I use
to program commercial gear. No problems running Tboltmon with them
and it doesn't tie up my main computer.
