Bruce,
The model originally spec'd for the TS-2100 MTI 240-0530-D

Here is the MRTG trace. Had a power failure in July and it settled from a
previous 36 to a new 3. These are not absolute values but offset by 47640
to amplify the scale or changes of 1 in 65535 would not be visible.
Therefore,
Bruce,
The link Azelio Boriani shared is the source I used when doing the same
project. Please, post your results. MIne has been running for several years
now without any issues. I track the OCXO control voltage register in the
2100. It has 65535 steps and over long periods (1 year) that control
Bruce,
Search the TimeNuts archives. There are many posts with details on
installing the OCXO and a few minor required config changes for the
TS-2100. I did this upgrade with a
MTI 240-0530-C a few years ago and both relied on the archives and
added to the group knowledge. I suggest you search

I heard back from Heol Design and it appears that this is not an isolated
issue and Heol is aware of the problem. They believe that something is
causing the GPS to lose key settings. They have updated their firmware to
reload key settings on power-up in case they had been lost. I am a bit
After 2-3 months of stable operation I noticed today that the Tracking

Greg,
I did both those upgrades a few weeks ago and have been very pleased with
the results. Desoldering the TCXO is a bit tricky and takes some
patience. I do not have the widget board in my TS-2100 so I'm not much
help there.
I assume you already have your OCXO...The correct one is a bit
Sean,
I have it (but not with me) and can send it directly to you this evening.
I will also gladly post if anyone else is interested.

I just received the Heol Design N024 Trimble ACE III clone to resolve the

original Trimble ACE III gps units. Installation was very straight forward

Sean,
I have one on the way as well along with an MTI 240-0530-D OCXO. Looks
like my TS-2100 is getting a complete makeover. I'll provide feedback as
well.

I just discovered that a correct model MTI OCXO (MTI 240-0530-D) for the

Nick,
While I don't know how to build the GPSDO circuit I do have some recent
experience with MTI OCXO's. The model number on your OCXO (based on the
eBay photo) is 260-0624-C. This is not one of the base model numbers and,
therefore, indicates it is a customized version. So to use it
In my quest to add an MTI 240 OCXO to my TS-2100 I ended up buying one on
eBay only to realize that MTI made many custom versions of the MTI 240
OCXO. I had no idea what the specific characterisics of my MTI 240 (MTI
240-0545-C) were and how did they compare to the TS-2100 stock MTI OCXO
