Hi Joan and all TMIC members,
When I spoke to Cindy today she mentioned that Joan was going to update the
TMIC of her and her condition. She told me that she could use and would
appreciate some prayers. I know that I do not need to remind all of you of
this since we are a big family but I
I would like to get her address and send a card adn some chocolate.

THINGS ARE LOOKING PRETTY GOOD SO FAR. THE ROD IN HER FEMUR HAD TO

NOT FOR THE SQUEEMISH!
For those of you who do not know what Cindy is going through, I had a double
break of the femur in 1987 and was given a choice of a nail (rod) or a
cast. With the rod they can make your leg the exact correct length. With a
cast, probably not which means a limp for life.
Does anyone know if Ultra Sound treatment on the affected spinal area helps
or hinders recovery? I am trying it now. Any advise would be helpful.
grasping at straws.
Back in 1956 I broke my right arm in three places. Two compound fractures
below the elbow and one above. The ortho decided to put a rod up above the
elbow. It was made out of platinum and after a year, the doc wanted it back,
to 'use on the next victim'.;)It was so long ago I
i hate it when trial and error has that effect

The closest I came to hell on earth was in rehab. I was allowed to
fall twice. I was given the wrong meds daily for nearly two months, I
was insulted and demeaned. I remember the nurse entering my room and
finding me crying -- I was in awful electric pain --- and she told
me I shouldn't be
Also sounds like my fifth back operation, where my fusions were all coming
undone, five of them, and they installed Harrington Rods across several of
the weaker ones, in an attempt to stabilize by back and protect the spinal
cord from further trauma. Of course, we didn¹t figure on TM bypassing
Re: [TMIC] AgeI am a lot like you guys, very grateful that I can walk and do
things around the house. I work on something, then rest my legs and back;
work on something, rest back and legs. I have
learned patience. I have bad days like all of you, but you just go on.

I thought that if you had lesions in the brain, it was probably MS rather TM.

I also was a lot more work for my rehab nurses too. I was there for 5-6
weeks. Most of the other patients were just recuperating from knee/ankle
surgery, or maybe a stroke victim, but no one
else had the problems I did with TM.I also had a couple of serious
situations – my organs just
