Re: [Tn5250j-general] Process to install the tn5250j question

2011-01-13 Thread Martin W. Kirst

Hi,

an installer will be out there, with the next release.
You can do an update, by simply replacing the existing files (tn5250j.jar).

I'm not catching the point regarding the folders.
From my point of view, tn5250j will not write to application folder,
but only to user's home directory.

Regards
 Martin

[Tn5250j-general] Process to install the tn5250j question

2011-01-11 Thread Michael D. Setzer II
In the previous beta releases, there was an installer that setup the program.
In my classroom lab, I just replaced the tn5250j.jar file with the new one, and
it worked with no problem.

Just had a new install and just ran the program directly in the users directory.

java -jar tn5250j.jar

and it created two files that started with
D:\\Documents and Settings\\.

Later I copied the contents on another machines .tn5250j directory, and
deleted the files and retried it, but it again created the files.

Running the program from a directory where the user didn't have write
permissions results in it using the .tn5250j settings.
