using the source avail. from blackdown.org as well.
a quick remedy might be to see if you infact have libX11.so.6

It seems you didn't have X11 installed on your Linux boxes.
Which distrib did you use ?
I'm using the Sun jdk1.30_02 on Linux Mandrake 7.2 with no problems.
