Thanks, but I think the bug goes deeper than that, since I
get the same
behaviour if I communicate directly with Tomcat (ie
sota.silly.domain.net:8080 maps to vp:8080).

I'm trying something a little more complicated now - I have two different
sites: sota and vp. I have apps-sota.xml like:
Server
Host name=sota
Alias name=sota.silly.domain.net /
Context path= docBase=webapps/Sota /
/Host
/Server
and apps-vp.xml like:

Thanks for trying this. It looks like a bug. In:
ServerName vp
ServerAlias sota.silly.domain.net vp.silly.domain.net
The sota.silly.domain.net should not be included
