Hey James,
Try adding the URL of Trac website to the Trusted sites in Internet
Explorer security settings. IE probably does not allow to create a
cookie with your current settings.

Take a look at TracPlugins [1].
In your case, the WebAdmin-plugin [2] should solve the problem.

Hello!I would like to use trac as development tool in our company. It
would be perfect if each user had just one password for trac, subversion
and system auth. Is it possible to have all three authentications using
just one password for each user?

I don't really think a warning is necessary since underscores aren't
even legal in domains, so hopefully people aren't using them, and DNS
servers would forbid their use.

It's probably not necessary in the technical sense, but it is a useful
gotcha to publish. It may or may not be appropriate for the Trac
wiki, as specified, but it is an issue that is often encountered and
very well might affect Trac users.
I know I've run into this often when internal domains
Both Trac and subversion (when using DAV) use HTTP authentication. Just
use the same configuration in Apache for both.

you may find it easier to ask on IRC (#trac on irc.freenode.net).

I just set up trac using the standalone server on port 8080. I
navigate to the login section on my web browser but the page comes up
blank. All the other pages seem to work.
Also, is there any way to set up https usage using the standalone server?
It actually turned out to be an auth issue. It is fixed now. Is
there anything i can do about the https?

You do not need Apache to use either Subversion or Trac. You need APR
(likely a version from Apache 2) for subversion, but thats it. You do
need Apache 2 to run the Subversion DAV module, but that is unrelated to
Trac.
