terminates in a male plug. Put that into the
straight-through female on the splitter block. The other two
female ports will be line 1 and line 2 (both coming out on
the center pair of wires). Ignore the male connector on the
splitter block

usefull.
I did try gcj last night and it's missing things too. I
didn't know what to make of the just-ahead compiler and the
just-intime compiler. A compiler is a compiler, right? Now I
see that byte code has to be compiled too.

Do I need samba as well as the smbfs module to mount
exports from a samba box, or is the mount failing for other
reasons?
Thanks Joe

to share, you
shouldn't need samba-server.
the client is just smbfs mounting, not sharing.

I setup my first linux box on a machine with a 32M (M, not
G) harddisk back in 1994. I used a live CD (most of your
file system is on the CD and /home/user and /etc are on the
harddisk
evening and would run them
overnight. It was just amazing - I would have megabytes of
files waiting for me when I woke up next morning.

I just found out the IPSec works with ipv4 (I last played
with ipv6 about 8yrs ago and dropped it when I realised I
could only talk to myself with ipv6).
IPSec seems to handle the encryption that WEP and WPA are
doing. Why isn't IPSec used instead of WEP and WPA?
Thanks Joe

WEP and IPSec you have to enter a key and I can't imagine
that setup would be much different for Joe and Jane Public.

sorry forgot to answer the qeustion.
No.
The ones I have say Agere (the name of the original
manufacturer).
There are many different chip sets out there. Some
of the ethernet
card). You may not be able to move the install from one
machine to another even if you know the file. Hell I can't
install Windows on one machine and move the disk to another
without getting NTLDR not found.
