2007-02-16 Thread Carl Crider

wondering if anyone has been able to do this yet. i have 2 wireless routers
[netgear rangemax wrt54g]
that i would like to modify slightly. they work just fine as box stock
units, so i havent flashed them
with a *nix version [yet]. anyway, what i want to do is simply change the
this page has been blocked
by xxx page that comes up when you attempt to view a blocked site. this
would make my day,
as well as the day of my somewhat picky boss :) i have searched high low
for an answer, but
have yet to find one.

thanks

In days of old we used to hack into these using hex editors. Generally
the message is stored in the binary and modification of the text itself
should not affect the operation of the binary.

Of course finding the binary that is delivering this message is left up
to you and some persistent grepping!

Good Luck - Jon

I think you'd be better off flashing your router, and changing it
afterward. I'm not a fan of stock f/w on the Linksys routers anyhow.
