Awwww, elsman, and YOU WERE DOING SO GOOD REBUFFING THOSE JEZEBELS!!! Why did you
have to go and mess it up with such an UNSCRIPTURAL AND UNBIBLICAL STATEMENT???

Galatians says we are free to disobey YHVH???????

Galatians says we can forget what YHVH said would last forever???

Rabbi Shaul (Apostle Paul) encouraged the Galatians not to obey the commandments
given from YHVH????

Galatians tells us to disobey Jesus??????

My, my.

As Mr. Ken Jones told me when I sojourned with him back in Spring of 2000, "Jesus
was a legalist. The definition of legalism means -- expert in the law. And Jesus
was AN EXPERT IN THE LAW."

You, elsman, may be an expert in American Law -- but you are far from being an
expert in Yah's Law.

Sorry, elsman, Galatians SAYS NOTHING OF THE SORT.

You ought to humble yourself and read my Galatians artcile -- posted at
www.TorahandSpirit.com and attempt to refute it.

If you continue promoting a gospel that encourages rebellion against Torah you shall
forever be accursed -- along with those jezebels!

Part IV: Galatians
Posted by Daniel John Lee on April 24, 2004 at 18:24:27:

Joyous Shabbat Greetings in the Matchless Name of YahShua!!!

On this 21st omer, less than a month until Pentecost, we will move on to Part IV of
the Apostle Paul series.

Galatians has been one of the most misunderstood, misapplied books of the entire
Bible. Because most Christians fail to understand the controversy that raged amongst
believing Jews in the 1st century, they make a host of wrong assumptions that makes
Paul's statement say the exact opposite of what he intended.

This, part, hopefully, will set the record straight for those who read.

Paul's introduction to the book of Galatians is:

1:6
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ
unto another gospel:
1:7
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel
of Christ.
1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that
which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
1:9
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you
than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

So the problem is simple: the believers in Galatia have removed themselves from the
"gospel of grace" and replaced it with a "perverted gospel".

The question we must ask ourselves is: what IS this "gospel of grace" and what IS this
"perverted gospel" that has bewitched the Galatians? If we answer either of these
questions wrong, we will not understand this book at all. If we answer them correctly,
the entire book will make sense.

A few verses later, Paul begins to indicate what the "perverted gospel" is:

1:13
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that
beyond measure I persecuted the congregations of God, and wasted it:
1:14
And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more
exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

Now we have our answer. The "perverted gospel" of which Paul used to be a follower is
"the traditions of my fathers". The very Talmudic, Jewish traditions which YahShua
repeatedly rebuked the Pharisees for is the "perverted gospel". Paul was not zealous
of the Torah, the WRITTEN WORD OF YHVH -- he was zealous of the "traditions of my
fathers" -- the oral, man-made Pharisaical traditions that made void the very Torah
they claimed to keep.

So, very clearly, Paul defines the "perverted gospel" = the orthodox, man-made
Pharisaical, Talmudic rules of apostate Judaism.

Paul then proceeds to recount his first several years as a believer. At the beginning
of chapter 2, as he is recounting his travels, he says:

2:2
And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach
among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means
I should run, or had run, in vain.
2:3
But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:
2:4
And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out
our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
2:5
To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel
might continue with you.

Now Paul is beginning to talk about those who were worshipping "the perverted gospel"
and that the twisted, man-made Pharisaical rules of orthodox Jewry have one aim: to
strip away the freedom in YahShua and bring others under bondage.

We know Paul is not talking about Torah for not only does I John 5 say the Torah is
not burdensome, but Paul has already defined what the "perverted gospel" is, namely
orthodox Judaism and its Talmudic rules.

Titus was not "compelled" the be circumcised. The word "compelled" here is FORCED.
These orthodox, Talmudic Jews were requiring believing Gentiles to undergo the complex
ritual of orthodox Judaism circumcision (see Part I in this series and Acts 15). This
"circumcision" had NOTHING to do with the Torah circumcision given to Avraham. This
circumcision in Galatians 2 is "of the traditions of my father" per the context, a
circumcision that was unscriptural and man-made.

The circumcision in Torah (which every male believer in YahShua must undergo if they
wish to partake of Passover) is not forced -- but is something any lover of YahShua
would want to do. And this simple cutting of the foreskin has nothing to do with "the
traditions of my fathers" but is a Torah command in Genesis which is an eternal sign
between the believer and YHVH.

Titus is refusing the orthodox complex system of rituals of a circumcision invented by
misled Jews, he is NOT refusing the Torah circumcision that ANY MALE BELIEVER is
required to take as a step of obedience to Messiah.

2:7
But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed
unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;
2:8
(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the
same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
2:9
And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that
was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we
should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

This, of course, is not Paul saying that Peter and the others preached for Jews to be
circumcised while Paul and his friends preached to Gentiles not to be circumcised.
That would be absurd! Paul begins this book by saying a DIFFERENT gospel is being
embraced by Galation believers. So why would he then say that between Peter and
himself, they preach two different gospels?

No, all this is saying is that Paul PRIMARILY (but not exclusively) preached to the
unbelieving Gentiles, while Peter PRIMARILY (but not exclusively) preached to the
unbelieving Jews.

2:11
But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be
blamed.
2:12
For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they
were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the
circumcision.
2:13
And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was
carried away with their dissimulation.
2:14
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I
said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of
Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the
Jews?

Paul continues to establish the problem of "the perverted gospel" by recounting how
even Peter began to slip back into Talmudic, orthodox Jewry by refusing to eat with
believing Gentiles when certain of the Pharisees came to visit. This foolish rule IS
NO WHERE FOUND IN THE WRITTEN TORAH -- but was a racist, bigoted man-made rule
invented by Jews that Yah had already once dealt with Peter on back in Acts 10.

Paul is rebuking Peter for following after man-made Talmudic rules that nullify Torah.
Torah actually ALLOWS Gentiles to eat with Jews as long as those Gentiles have been
grafted into Yisrael (which these were).

2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus
Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith
of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh
be justified.

Paul gives the REASON why this "perverted gospel" does not work. Following after the
rules and rituals of orthodox Judaism allows one to feel justified by doing those
rules and regulations. But ONLY faith (obedience to Yahshua) can justify anyone.

As it has always been, one must TRUST in YHVH and prove this by keeping every jot and
tittle of the Torah -- this is the only way a man can be justified.

The "perverted gospel", however, removes the requirement to TRUST IN YHVH, because man
can trust in himself, his own rules and regulations, and thereby allows him to disobey
much of the Torah. It simply does not work for it leads to disobedience to Torah.

2:19
For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:
and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who
loved me, and gave himself for me.
2:21
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ
is dead in vain.

Here, at last, Paul reminds his readers what the "gospel of grace" IS! As Paul said in
Romans 7, the "gospel of grace" is being DEAD to the condemnation of the Torah. and
being married to YahShua, the very Torah clothed in flesh. By this, YahShua lives
INSIDE Paul, enabling him to keep every jot and tittle of Torah -- for it is no longer
Paul doing it, but YahShua within him enabling Paul to do it.

Paul ends the chapter by saying he does not frustrate grace (as do the orthodox
Talmudic Jews do through justifying themselves by their own unscriptural rules and
regulations) because he does KEEP ALL OF TORAH for he is now married to YahShua and
Yahshua lives within him.

So, at the end of 2 chapters, Paul defines the "perverted gospel" and the "gospel of
grace":

Perverted gospel = the traditions of the orthodox Jews that had no root in Torah

Gospel of grace = dying to the condemnation of Torah and being married to YahShua, the
Torah clothed in Flesh, thereby causing YahShua to live within you, enabling you to
keep every jot and tittle of Torah. In other words, finding justification through
Faith in YahShua, not through man-made rules and regulations.

3:1
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before
whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

Paul, once more, brings backs the main purpose for writing this book: why, oh why have
you foolish Galatians rejected the "gospel of grace" (keeping Torah through Yahshua)
for this "perverted gospel" (following man made rules and regulations of orthodox
Jewry that allows you to disobey Torah)?

3:2
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by
the hearing of faith?
3:3
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
3:4
Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
3:5
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth
he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Paul says, in other words, did you receive the Ruach ha Kadosh by following fleshly
rules and regulations invented by Pharisaical Jews, or by obedience to the Torah
clothed in Flesh, YahShua Himself?

3:6
Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
3:7
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
3:8
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith,
preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
3:9
So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
3:10
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of
the law to do them.
3:11
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The
just shall live by faith.

Paul says how Avraham was first delivered the "gospel of grace". The faith Avraham
practiced (obedience to YHVH), is the same faith that is needed today to inherit
eternal life.

Paul then says that as many as seek to be justified by "the complex system of rules
and regulations of Orthodox Jewry" will be under the curse of not keeping the whole
Torah.

You see, the insidious thing about the unbelieving Pharisees was that they CLAIMED to
keep all of Torah even though they ACTUALLY violated MUCH of Torah by keeping their
man-made Jewish rules. Paul then says, "ok, fine. If you claim to keep all of Torah
but you really do not -- then cursed are you, for all are cursed who do not keep every
jot and tittle of the Torah!"

But it is not "orthodox Talmudic rules" that can justify us -- for that leads to
disobedience of Torah. Rather, it is only faith in YHVH that can justify us, because
that is the ONLY thing that enables us to avoid the curse by ACTUALLY KEEPING EVERY
JOT AND TITTLE OF TORAH!!!! HalleluYAH!!!

3:12
And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it
is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Here Paul reminds us that YahShua has redeemed us from "the curse of the Torah" (the
condemnation that Torah brings), because He took that condemnation of Torah onto
Himself.

Because He took that curse upon Himself AND because He now enables us to keep every
jot and tittle of Torah -- the Torah can no longer condemn us.

3:18
For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to
Abraham by promise.
3:19
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed
should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of
a mediator.
3:20
Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
3:21
Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law
given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
3:22
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus
Christ might be given to them that believe.
3:23
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should
afterwards be revealed.
3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be
justified by faith.
3:25
But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Paul points out, as he does in Romans 7, that we are no longer "under the condemnation
of the Torah" but now, because we are in Messiah, we keep Torah through faith in Him!

Those who wish to follow the complex orthodox rituals and rules of Talmudic Jewry in
place of obeying Torah will be "under the condemnation of Torah".

3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male
nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Just as it has always been -- those who are grafted into Yisrael are ONE -- there is
no difference -- ALL are expected to keep Torah who have been grafted into Yisrael
through faith in Messiah YahShua.

Paul continues to remind the Galatians who they are in Messiah, the glorious position
they have been elevated to and once more asks in frustration:

4:9
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again
to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
4:10
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
4:11
I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Paul again defines what makes this "perverted gospel" is. The Talmud would require
various fast days (see Romans 14), various observances that were not commanded by
Torah, and other such extra-scriptural dates that would literally squeeze out the
Torah Sabbath and New Moons. These Galatians were becoming so wrapped up in "the
traditions of the fathers", they were losing track of the Torah and the Torah clothed
in Flesh.

Next Paul gives an allegory which has been totally misunderstood and misapplied by the
Christian Church.

4:21
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
4:22
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a
freewoman.
4:23
But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was
by promise.
4:24
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount
Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
4:25
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and
is in bondage with her children.
4:26
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
4:27
For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou
that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an
husband.
4:28
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
4:29
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the
Spirit, even so it is now.
4:30
Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son
of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

Paul begins by saying, "Ok, you guys who want to be under the condemnation the Torah
brings by following the Talmud -- answer me this . . ."

Avraham had 2 children: Ishmael and Isaac.

Ishmael - son of Agar -- the son of bondage is akin to Mt. Sinai and the Yerushalyim
on earth.

Isaac -- the son of Sarah -- the promised seed -- is akin to true servants of Yahshua.

Verse 23 is the key to understanding this allegory.

Ishmael represents those who try to be justified by the works of the flesh, Isaac
those who are justified by Faith and the Spirit.

Just as Avraham sought, by the works of the flesh, to bring forth the promised seed
and so produced Ishmael, when Avraham trusted in Yah, Isaac came forth.

In the same way, those who seek to bring forth eternal life (the promise) by works of
the flesh (following orthodox Talmudic Jewry) are of the Ishmael seed, while those who
cleave unto YahShua and thereby keep every jot and tittle of Torah are of the Isaac
seed.

So why is Mt. Sinai and the covenant given at that mountain related to Ishmael and
bondage? Because Torah gave bondage?

NO.

But the Israelites who came to Mt. Sinai wanted to keep Torah WITHOUT the faith of
Avraham, and so wound up creating their own system of Talmudic Jewry which only led to
bondage.

In order to keep the Torah covenant at Mt. Sinai, one must first enter into the
Avrahamic covenant of faith -- otherwise bondage ensues.

Paul, through a very poetic allegory -- shows that the only way to keep every jot and
tittle of Torah is to have faith in Messiah YahShua. Any other attempt, like going
through a complex system of rules and regulations in place of faith in YahShua, only
leads to bondage and death.

Faith produces works. Works cannot produce faith.

5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not
entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Paul encourages the Galatians to press on into YahShua and Torah keeping, and to avoid
being entangled with the yoke of Talmudic, orthodox Judaism that many of them had come
out of.

5:2
Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you
nothing.
5:3
For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the
whole law.
5:4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye
are fallen from grace.
5:5
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Paul, again, is not speaking of the circumcision of Avraham -- but rather the
circumcision discussed in Acts 15 that is tied to the "traditions of my fathers" he
brought up in Galatians 1.

If the Galatians want to enter into the complex, Talmud ritual of getting circumcised
(in addition to the Torah circumcision they already underwent), then Messiah will
profit them nothing. Paul knows that they will use the Talmud as a replacement for
trust in YahShua.

Paul again reminds them if they think they can keep the whole Torah by keeping
man-made Talmudic rules, they are wrong -- not only will they not be able to keep
Torah -- but the ONE PERSON who can enable them to keep Torah will become of none
effect to them.

5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but
faith which worketh by love.

Following orthodox Talmudic Judaism or not following orthodox Talmudic Judaism
accomplishes nothing -- it is all vain -- what DOES MATTER IS FAITH WORKING BY LOVE!!!!

5:11
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then
is the offence of the cross ceased.

Paul says, "Hey, if I am still preaching orthodox Judaism and Talmud -- I could avoid
persecution as I once did. But now that I have cast off the man-made Jewish laws and
truly obey all of Torah by faith in YHVH -- I have become an offence to the Jews."

The offence of the stake is that Paul, unlike the Pharisees, ACTUALLY DOES KEEP ALL OF
TORAH, by rejecting the Jews' rules and cleaving unto YahShua, the Giver of the Torah.

Paul then exhorts the Galatians in the faith. He concludes his letter by once more
bringing up the main issue that caused him to write it in the first place:

6:12
As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be
circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
6:13
For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you
circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

Paul says, "Look, these Talmudic Jews want you to undergo a Talmudic circumcision so
that you can keep the written Torah and they don't even keep the Written Torah
themselves!!!"

The motivation of these Judaizers was simply to have a following that they could glory
in, and to avoid the persecution from the unbelieving Pharisees. By adopting the
Talmudic-orthodox rules in place of faith in YahShua, they could avoid persecution and
have a following to puff them up. Fear of man and pride motivated the Judaizers.

6:15
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a
new creature.

Paul repeats himself a second time: that following the Talmudic orthodox rules or
walking outside the Talmudic orthodox rules really doesn't matter once you are in
YahShua ha Maschiah, following every jot and tittle of the written Torah.

If I deny all of Talmud-orthodox Judaism and yet still refuse Torah (as the Christians
do), I am lost.

If I accept all of Talmud-orthodox Judaism and yet refuse Torah (as the kabbalists and
orthodox Jews do), I am lost.

CONCLUSION:

In the year 2004, this controversy is now beginning to emerge amongst Torah Keepers
once again.

There are those among us, such as Avi-Ben Mordechai, James Trimm, Moshe Conuchowski
and many other kabbalists, who are seeking to bring Torah followers under the bondage
of Talmudic orthodox Jewry. They will ultimately join ranks with the Torahless
anti-Messiah, as they continue to replace Torah with their own Jewish Talmud.

The true Judaizers are not those who seek to bring believers into Torah keeping, but
they are those who seek to bring us into the bondage of orthodox Talmudic Judaism.

Perhaps a modern day Apostle Paul will arise in these last days and write another
letter to warn us of the kabbalists and those who would seek to bring us into the
bondage of Jewish traditions.

Shabbatting on this Shabbat Shalom,
Daniel John Lee
