intentions.

FOR ATTENTION OF THE PUBLIC IN MALAYSIA
Dear Honarary Judge,
Re: Criminal Court Case No. 44-50-97

Writ Habeas Corpus
With reference to the above and further to my letter dated December 31, 97 to M/s Lee
Min Choon & Co.
I, Nor Aishah Binti Bokhari (IC NO: 720517-01-5172) (F) of No. 5 Jalan AU5C/8, Lembah
Keramat, 54200 Kuala Lumpur, am 26 years of age and a Malay by birth.
I am writing to you to plead and appeal to your goodself and the public to help free
me and my boyfriend, Joseph Arnold Lee (IC No: A1448978) of our constitutional rights
from the harrasments made by my family, Encik Bokhari Bin Mohamed Tahir, Puan Samiah @
Anton Bt. Toma, Encik Nazaruddin Bin Bokhari, Encik Mohamed Sabirin Bin Bokhari and
Puan Norashikin Binti Bokhari, my relatives, especially my uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin
Bin Ali, who is the chief of Police of Jalan Dang Wangi Branch, Kuala Lumpur, and the
Police Contingent of Pontian, Johor.

In the meantime, I am unable to come out in the opening to give my statements freely
or go to any Police Branch to make a police report as I do not trust any of our
Malaysian

Page 2
Police contingents in view of my uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin bin Ali, who is Chief of
Police of Jalan Dang Wangi Branch, Kuala Lumpur, is using all his executive powers
directly and indirectly to stop me from doing so.

My uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin B Ali is doing everything he can to stop me from telling
the truth as he is afraid of me telling the truth of what happened on November 20,
1997 with him and the police contingents involvement in the abduction of me in front
of Bangunan Amoda and subsequently confined me with my parents in Johor Bahru.

However, I am writing to your goodself and the puyblic on my painful experience with
hope that the necessary actions would be taken to free me and my boyfriend, Joseph
Arnold Lee (IC No: A1448973) of our constitutional rights against the harrasements of
my family and my relatives in order for us to go on with our lives of what both of us
have planned. This is my painful experience.
I have on my own free will denounce the Agama Islam to convey to become a Catholic
with a Statutory Declaration executive in front of a Commission of Oaths dated
December 22, 97. I have been going to a Catholic Church almost every Sunday since
November 98. Since then my faith and believe in the Catholic religion have grown
stronger everyday.

My boyfriend, Joseph and I had intentions to get married sometime in mid-December
1997. However, instead of us proceeding with our marriage first without my famly’s
knowledge and consent, we decided to give my parents the last respect by informing
them of what were our intentions, despite knowing that they would reject our
intentions.

Page 3
On November 18/97, I left my job on my own free will as I was afraid that upon my
family’s knowledge of my intentions of conversion to a Catholic and marrying Joseph
they woul definitely abduct me back to my hometown in Johore Bahru and confine me
there for good. So, I decided to stay with Joseph’s mother in Seremban.

On the morning of November 19/97, I telephoned my parents in Pontian, Johor and advise
them of my intentions and decisions. My parents rejected my intentions and told me
that they will be coming to take me back to my hometown in Pontian, Johor.

In the afternoon of the same day, my parents together with my oldest brother, Encik
Nazaruddin Bin Bokhari, arrived at Joseph mother’s house where they were invited in by
Joseph’s mother. I started to further explain to them on my intentions and decision
and I wanted them to respect it. However, they never accepted it.
My brother, Encik Nazaruddin and my father had on several occasions tried to pull me
and drag me out of Joseph mother’s house, however, they were sternly threatened by
Joseph’s mother who told them that she would call the police, if they kept on using
force to take out of the house.

Joseph’s mother then advised me in front of my parents and brother that if I wanted to
go back with them on my own free will, I should do so. However, I told her that I did
not want to go back with them as it was my own decision to go on with my life of what
I had always wanted to do so.
After about 4 hours of persuasion and convincing by my parents and my brother, I stood
firm of my intentions and decisions.

Page 4
So they had no alternative but to go back home without me. On the same night, my
brother, Encik Nazaruddin Bin Bokhari telephoned me at Joseph mother’s house and
insisted of meeting me outside. I told him no. However, he then suggested of meeting
me at my lawyer’s office, M/s Leonard Teoh & James Lau at Level 10 of Bangunan Amoda,
at about 11 am the next day. I then agreed immediately. I contacted my lawyer, Mr
Leonard Teoh, at his his and confirmed the meeting.
On the morning of November 20/97, at about 11.30 am, on my way to the lawyer’s office,
my brother Encik Nazaruddin telephoned my handphone and asked me why I so late. I told
him that I was caught in a traffic jam in Kuala Lumpur and I could be there by 11.40
am.

My brother, Encik Nazaruddin, then asked me whether was I coming alone. I told him
that I was with Joseph, his mother and his brother-in-law. He further insisted to know
in what vehicle were we coming in. I then further explained to him. He then told me
that he was with my father only and are waiting at the lobby of Bangunan Amoda. I told
him to go up o my lawyer’s office to wait for us but he insisted of waiting for us at
the lobby.

As we drived passed Bangunan Amoda, I saw my father and brother waiting by the
roadside in front of Bangunan Amoda. After parking the car behind Bangunan Amoda we
walked through the backdoor of Bangunan Amoda to meet my brother and father.

As we were in the lobby of Bangunan Amoda, we waived at my brother and father to
follow us to take the lift up to the lawyer’s office. But my brother kept waving at us
insisting of us to go over where they were standing.

----------
Page 5
As we approached my brother and father, I noticed my brother walking towards the
roadside of Melia Hotel, however, it did not trigger me that he was calling for
another car. As Joseph, his mother and his brother-in-law greeted my brother and
father, I noticed a police patrol car driving into Bangunan Amoda’s driveway behind
us, and another metalik silver Proton Wira stopped behind my brother and father by the
main roadside.

When it came to my turn to greet my brother, En. Nazaruddin pulled me away from Joseph
and dragged me towards the main road heading for the Proton Wira. As Joseph tried
stopping my brother from dragging me, 2 policemen held Joseph and pulled him away. I
started shouting for help at the policemen but they ignored me.

When Joseph’s brother-in-law tried stopping my brother from dragging me into the car,
a police officer stopped him. During that time, I was still shouting for help, but
that police office once more ignored my call. (I wonder what kind of policemen are
they)

Then 2 more plain clothes men came from the Proton Wira car and assisted my brother to
bundle me into the car. I was made to lie down on 3 men’s lap in the Proton Wira. They
held me so tight that I could’nt even move. Then, the police officer closed the back
door of the Proton Wira car and they drove off heading to my uncle, Encik Zainal
Abidin’s office. I then knew that all these were planned and assisted by my uncle,
Encik Zainal Abidin’s and his police contingent.

As my brother & father pulled me into my uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin’s office at his
Jalan Dang Wangi Branch, my uncle pretended that he did not know anything. My father
then, pretend to explain, to him briefly on the whole situation.

Page 6
My uncle then took me into another room somewhere in his office to talk to me. He
advised me to follow my dad home in Johore. I told him No and I further explained to
him on my intentions and decisions to go on with my life as what I had wanted, but he
kept on insisting of me going back with my father to Johore.
However, I stood firm of my intentions and decisions of what I had worried for my
life. My uncle then knew that he could not persuade me to change my mind. He then took
me back to his office where my brother, father and another 30 more uncles were there
waiting for me.
My uncles together with my brother kept advising and persuading me to go back with my
father to Pontian, Johor, but again I stood firm and told them to leave me alone and
allow to go back to Joseph mother’s house.

My uncle, Encik Zainal Abiding then went out of the office and later come back with a
polie report made by my boyfriend Joseph against my father and brother for abducting
me.

My uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin did not allow me to read the police report but showed me
the last page of Joseph’s police report where in his statement he said that my father
and brother had kidnapped me.

My uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin, then threatened me that he would have to hold my father
brother back for investigation in view of Joseph’s police report. My uncle, Encik
Zainal Abidin then told me that he would make-up another police report to be signed by
me to protect the interest of my brother and father. In view of his threaten, I was
left in fear and scared.

-----------------
Page 7
My uncle, En. Zainal Abidin, then got one of his staff, a police inspector by the name
of En. Manoharan to put up a false police report to protect the interest of my father
and brother. The police inspector then read the report to me and made me signed it.

Again, my uncle Encik Zainal Abidin kept on insisting of me to follow my father back
to Pontian, Johore, but I told him "No". I told him that I was 25 years old and was
big enough to make my decisions of what I had wanted. I told my my uncle Encil Zainal
Abidin that I wanted to go back to Joseph mother’s house, but he just kept quiet. My
uncle knew that they could not change my mind of what I had wanted and I also knew
that they would not allow me to go back to Joseph mother’s house.

So, I suggested to my uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin that with his permission I would like
to stay in his house in Petaling Jaya for a few days. He agreed and told me that I
could stay in his house for as long as I wished. My intentions were to stay in his in
Petaling Jaya for a few days and then find a way to run away from being confined by
them.

In the late evening of the same day, I excused myself from my uncle’s office to go to
the toilet. I went to the toilet alone and managed to sneak a call from my handphone
to Joseph’s handphone. I told Joseph that I had no alternative but to sign a false
police report in view of my uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin’s threats. I then told Joseph
that I would call him back later.

As I returned to my uncle, En. Zainal Abidin’s office, my brother and father together
with my other 3 uncles decided to leave my uncle, En. Zainal Abidin’s office and head
for Encik Zainal Abidin’s house in Petaling Jaya.

Page 9
(Page 8 is missing in the photostat of the affidavit that was
dropped into my mail box this morning—wouldst anyone who has the
missing page, put it on Sang Kancil) not do anything.

Later, my brother, Encik Nazaruddin realize that I was crying, he then promised me
that he would find a way for me and Joseph to be together if I would follow him and my
father back to Johore. He told me to give him a week. I knew my brother, Encik
Nazaruddin, was lying to me, then I kept silent.

I then telephoned my lawyer, Mr Leonard Teoh’s handphone, but it was on voice message.
I then left a message for him, asking him to act for me and help to be free. I kept
begging him "please".
About 10.45 pm that night, I telephoned Joseph again. I cried to him to find away to
take me out of my uncle’s house. Joseph told me that he could not do anything more but
to leave it in the hands of my lawyer, Mr Leonard, to take the necessary action
against my family for restraining and confining me against my own free will. Once more
he told me to contact my lawyer, Mr Leonard Teoh, at his house telephone numbers.

I then called my lawyer, Mr Leonard Teoh, again. I cried and pleaded to him to take
the necessary action to free me from being confined by my family. I told Mr Leonard
Teoh to act for me and help me to be free. Mr Leonard Teoh then told me that he would
give my family a few days to come ot their senses before he would proceed for filing
legal lactions against them the following week.

The next afternoon, November 21/97, my brother, Encik Nazaruddin, my uncle and my
parents force fully dragged me out of my uncle, Encik Zainal Abidin’s house into my
brother’s car. I kept struggling and, fighting against them but my strength was no
match for them. They managed to bundle me into

----------------
Page 10
my brother’s car and took me back to my aunty’s house in Skudai, Johor. We reached my
aunty’s house in the evening.

I then sneaked myself to the bathroom and made a call to Joseph mother’s house. I told
Joseph’s mother what my brother, uncle and parents did to me at the my uncle’s house.
I told her to take care of Joseph, and assured her that I will find a way to come back
to Joseph. Joseph’s mother told me to take care of myself and keep on praying for
God’s guidance.

Then I was placed in a room by my family. There I made another call to my lawyer, Mr
Leonard Teoh. I told him that my family jointly with my uncle had forced me into my
brother’s car and took me back to Johor. And during the event of struggling they hurt
me all over my body. I told Mr Leonard that I did not know where I was but will call
him back later to let him know the address of my whereabouts. I then cut off the line
as my aunty was calling me to come out of the room.

Later, the same night, I telephoned Joseph and cried to him of what had happened. He
told me to be strong and keep on praying for God’s guidance. I cried to him and asked
him to come down to where I was to take me out of there. He told me that he wanted to
but it could be dangerous as my family will then further hide me away. Joseph then
told me told hold until next week as my lawyer was going to prepare the necessary
legal documents to get me free. I told Joseph that I would go all the way with my
lawyer to get me free and promised him that I would come back to him. Joseph then told
me to cal Mr Leonard Teoh or him to advise them on my where abouts.
