When Shahriar Account went awry Firefox was running... now if I copy whole
/.mozilla to new account and try to run firefox it says firefox is already

They are different commands.
cp -R f1 f2
cp -R f1/* f2
First one copies everything including the folder f1. While second one
copies all things inside f1.

$ sudo cp -R /home/shahriar/* /

You must update the owner and permissions, and its better to copy the whole
.mozilla folder as Nasim bhai said. or you can change profiles.ini file in
your .mozilla folder
chown -R ashabadi
