Steps to reproduce:
Install Ubuntu Feisty Fawn.
cPad didnt work since last Feisty Kernel update (dont know which version
it was) and also doesnt work under gutsy (2.6.22-8-generic).
cPad keeps on resetting:

It's funny. The same problem exists on Mac OS X Tiger: ypbind starts
before the system received an IP from DHCP. Now Ubuntu joins the crowd.
I put the following in /etc/network/interfaces:

Yes, I still have problems (to say the least). No I didn't do any
regression testing because I'm not using some modified version of wine,
simply the one in the officila Ubuntu repositories.

Confirmed using openoffice.org version 2.2.1-9162 (rpm's downloaded from

After further inverstigation of the problem, I've found another
workaround. As stated above, a similar, if not the same, issue existed
before (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268533). Fedora/Redhat
therefore provided a patch to workaround the issue. They were patching
src/server.c, where
