Tim's patch is certainly a big improvement if you set idle dimming to
disabled. No more annoying dimming when you don't want it. Except when
you open the gnome-power-manager preferences. Then it does seem to dim
the display for some reason.
Also, this bug appears to be a duplicate of bug #133057.
Discussing the settings will not make the bug fixed faster, that's not a
security issue if you type your password in random occasion without
looking on screen where your cursor is, that's annoying bug though,

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk
displayconfig-gtk does not detect the screen resolution correctly. I
have a 1400x1050 screen and even when I select the screen manually
displayconfig-gtk just offers resolutions up too 1280x800. It works with
no issues without
I have a Radeon 9000 mobility card and use the open source driver.

Could you please include the output of the following command:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gconftool-2 -g /system/gstreamer/0.10/default/audiosrc
i get the same message you mention in your last post, and change the
sound capture to alsasrc solve the problem for me.

After install ubuntu 64 bit edition, on a brand new install, X failed to
start properly. All I saw was completely garbled nonsense. After ctrl-
alt-F1 to a console I edited xorg.conf and added the resolution of my
first monitor 1920x1200 and then restarted X. I could then
anfortunately your crash file didn't contain enough information to
triage this bug report. This can happen and is not your fault. Please
submit new crash reports in future as well.

I've succeeded in doing that with quod libet whereas Rhythmbox doesn't
allow me to create several tags for one song nor to display multiple
tags
here is a piece of Mötley Crüe tagged with Rock and Ballade in Quod
Libet under Gutsy

Unlike Quod Libet, Rhythmbox can't handle multiple tags (for songs which
