Confirmed - this proposed release fixes the issue.
I would like to point out that this was a critical failure in a somewhat
popular (and a core addon package for postfix) ( Bug #135038, first
reported on 2007-08-27 ) and should have been addressed with a little
more urgency, and I've just noticed
That sounds JUST like my problem.
Started in Feisty, GRUB would want to install on the wrong drive, and when I
tried to set it to the drive that was was the start drive in the GRUB Drive
Map, I'd get an endless Looping of the word GRUB all over my screen when I
boot up. Here's how GRUB maps

At boot time, I get the following error messages:
PCI: cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 0001:10:18.0

From that point, boot proceeds normally and everything seems to work
