I have made some tests with feisty and gutsy.
I connected my SATA drive on the usb port and testet gutsy on the same machine.
Now I get a bag read and write performance of about 20MB/s instead of 50MB/s.

Cannot use Konsole as default terminal application
While I certainly agree with the reason for the bug, I nonetheless
believe it to be a bug. Given that it is rather difficult to fix, and
that it will not likely be fixed in Ubuntu, I'm adjusting this from
Invalid to Won't Fix, which seems to better match the intent of the
statement about the bug
The pops and clicks still occur with the Hardy alpha 4 live CD.
