Networking doesn't work in hardy when the x-server isn't running. Seems to be a
network-manager problem.
Try your self. Switch to konsole and type:
/etc/init.d/gdm stop

i have a problem with ktorrent
it starts off like it's opening and then i see it flash on and off the screen
and i can't access it
it says it's running if i try it in the terminal
system monitor shows it asleep and clicking the icon does nothing

Are the alternate CDs broken too, or just the liveCDs? Also, why are
daily builds still being released when they're clearly broken? And how
hard is it to make sure that the CDs actually have the xubuntu-desktop
package installed?? (Or is the problem more complicated than that?) I
