for anyone's information though, I got around it by installing
pulseaudio and using that that that gets the volume controls and keys
without having to adjust manually
Unhappily from the hardy alpha I have tried this bug is still
persistant, although again setting to pulseaudio (which is standard)
I have seen it once with 2.6.24-8-generic (x86_64) shortly after
2.6.24-8-generic was released in the hardy repo. Btw bluetooth was
disabled so please ignore my post from 2008-01-21.

Exactly the same thing as the bug reporter reports happens to me on my
HP Compaq 6715b. Whatever extra options/safe-mode I try, it always
stalls on "Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)". I tried last
with the live cd from February 9. I will try again after Alpha 5 is

jockey can't configure because of dependencies problems. there are 3
packages to be configured (jockey-common, jockey-kde and jockey-gtk) but
these packages depend with each other so it is impossible to resolve
that. can that be fixed?

Using the Free ATI drivers (radeon) I have no problems. Is there anyone
else using a similar configuration and experiencing these same issues? I
do know there are driver issues though because of the way that KDE works
with compositing is slightly different than the way that Compiz does.

We just installed this on someones computer this weekend at a LUG event
and the Gutsy KDE 4 CD seemed to work fine, however I didn't follow up
with them 100%, but when I did look at their machine, they were running
KDE 4. I don't know the status of the Gutsy CD and if it is going to
continue or not

I am confirming as I see some of the issues reported, the only thing I
do not see is the crash. However, it is recommended to do as Sarah
reported and that is to right click on an application in the menu and
add it to the desktop that way, or simply find what you want in
Konqueror or Dolphin and dr

Confirming. idutch was in the Gutsy repository but not in Hardy.
language-support-writing-nl is a new package to Hardy which does depend
on idutch. http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/translations/language-
support-writing-nl shows this.
