@Alexander -- Just FYI, my T60 has been running all day with the wired
connection, no freezes. So, maybe there's some critical difference
between the Radeon X1300 in my T60 vs. the Radeon X1400 in yours that's
related to the freezes...

Well I was able to fix the problem AND keep my icon set, though the
average user isn't going to want to go through the hassle of this VERY
ugly fix.
It seems that the system monitor doesn't like to use .svg images as
icons; rather it likes .png images. So to resolve this issue I had to
'hide' my
@bistory
Cheese neither works correctly with the driver here, but I think it's a
problem with Cheese.
gstreamer-properties see the driver, ekiga also, ... so cheese might be
broken, not the driver.

7.04 upgrades are not supported, since Wubi 7.10 was not an official
release (because the 7.10 kernel did not fully support r/w operations in
loopfiles) and the gap between 7.04 and 8.04 is a bit too wide.
There is a known bug in 8.04 that is probably the reason of what you
experienced (#222690),

afraid the said site is crashing because the page is totally flash
based. We require you to generate a proper crash report and attach it to
this bug report as an individual separate attachment. To know how to
debug Firefox
I have the same problem here. But I think I know why this is happening,
at least in my case.
